Label compliance

The packaging is an important part of how you present your brand to your customer, and you will likely have information and product attributes that are important to your brand.   Did you know that there are also specific requirements that you must comply with?  You have a responsibility to ensure that your labelling meets with the regulations, and this information forms an important part of the Product Information File (PIF).

There are 2 parts to making sure that  the ‘label’ (or packaging) is compliance for a cosmetic product:

  1. Review the label (symbols and information) based on Article 19 of the Cosmetics Regulation EC 1223/2009 and UK regulation 2013.
  2. Ensure that claims, information and data on the packaging (primary & secondary) have been checked by the Responsible Person and comply fully with the regulations.

Getting your packaging to the point where it is compliant and still communicate the best points of your brand & product can be time consuming and frustrating.
